It has truly been a labor of love. Not all that hard, but not all that easy either. I have had to enlist the help of a lot of people (Thanks All!). This web-stuff is not intuitive - take the guest book for example - it took me over 1 month to get it working.  It is quite addictive and thus very time consuming.  Between the site and eBay, it is amazing that I have time to go to work.

How did you start collecting the Bearista Bears?

In my past working life, I was a consultant for one of the Big 5 Consultancies (one that is still standing by the way!) and I traveled all over the United States - 100% of the time. I lived mostly in Corporate Apartments and I missed my pets.  There always seemed to be a Starbucks wherever I went and I noticed the little Bearista Bears. So I would buy them and they would be my pseudo pets. I didn't even realize they were collectible.  Anyway, after I found out, I had so many it just seemed logical to make it a hobby.  And of course, with Bearista Bears as a hobby, so came eBay. The rest is history.

What do you do when you are not on eBay or working on your website?

During the day, I am the Director of Technology Strategy for one of the Major Studios in Los Angeles.  I propose technical and operations strategies to help the business. While it sounds "geeky" it is not really super technical.  I don't code anything and I deal mostly with people and their fears about technology.  Sort of a technology shrink. Anyway, that is what I do.

Do you have any Pets?

Yes, I have 2 dogs and 4 cats. All rescues of one form or another. The tiger cat is Simon, he is deaf and he likes the water. In this picture he is sitting in the sprinkler, something he does every day. The dogs are Brianna and Bud. Brianna is Shar-Pei bloodhound mix and weighs over 90lbs.  Bud is almost 11 years old now, he is a pure bread Shar-Pei. Brianna goes to "school" 2 days a week - the picture is from her Halloween party. Bud is dressed as a pumpkin for 2002.

What do you do when you are not doing Bearista Stuff?

While it may seem like I spend every waking minute on this, truth be told, I also find time for Golf (I am terrible, but it is fun) and gardening. I am actually good at gardening. I am also a DIY Weekend Warrior - we always seem to have a project going. I also enjoy Feng-Shui'ing things.
